Jake grew up trout fishing the river and lakes around Springfield, Oregon until 2015 when he discovered a passion for Salmon and Steelhead fishing. After years of dissatisfaction with poor quality off the shelf rods, Jake started building personal rods in 2020 and as a business in 2022 starting Apex Custom Rods. Jake quickly learned there was an unfilled demand for custom rods in Oregon and has since built hundreds of rods for avid fisherman like just like him.
